How Antioxidants Work

Antioxidants are known to fight against the free radicals that can cause harm to the body. They also help to reverse any negative effects of the normal process of oxidation in the body.

Types of Antioxidants

Antioxidants are classified as nutrients and enzymes. The nutrient antioxidants include:

- Vitamin E
- Beta-carotene
- Vitamin C
- Selenium.

Several antioxidant enzymes are formed by trace minerals, such as zinc and manganese.

How Many Antioxidants Do You Need?

It is not recommended that people use antioxidant supplements. So this means that we need to get them in our diet. Eating a variety of foods that contain these is the best course of action.

Those eating a varied and healthy diet are almost always getting enough antioxidants and do not have to worry. There is no set amount of antioxidants that we should be aiming for each day.

Eating Healthily on a Budget

become a nutritionist

A lot of people want to eat a healthy diet, but they think that it is not affordable. While some healthy foods are pricey, you can find plenty that will fit right within your budget. These foods allow you to make full meals, as well as have snacks.

Go Local

If you check out local farmers’ markets and other fruit and veg suppliers, you’ll often find healthy foods at a lower price. Plus, these tend to be grown locally.

Buy Meat in Bulk

Bulk meats, chicken and fish are always cheaper than small and individual packages. Then, when you return home from the shops, package the bulk meat into meal-sized portions so that they are ready to go when you need them.

Go Generic

Supermarket own label items are almost always the same as the expensive brand names, but they cost a lot less.

Things like brown rice, oatmeal and other healthy foods can be found in store brands.

Go Meatless Once a Week

Choose a day each week to eat a meatless meal. Meat is usually the most expensive item on your plate, so skipping it just once a week can save some money. Go for a healthy pasta or an interesting vegetarian meal instead.

Skip the Freezer Section

While you can find healthy foods here and not all are expensive, the majority of frozen foods are overpriced. For example, you can make your own breaded fish at home for half the price and you control the ingredients, making it healthier. If you are getting local fruits and veggies for a good price, you will not need to worry about frozen ones.

Tomorrow…

You’ll receive the next part of your ‘Becoming aNutritionist’ series of articles. We’ll be looking at the health benefits of ginger.

5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD BECOME A DOG GROOMER.

MINIMAL COST TO SET UP YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

The dog grooming trade offers you the ability to set up a home based salon for a very small investment, you don’t need a fortune.  A town based business can be set up for a very minimal investment and a mobile business for the cost of a few tools of the trade.  It offers you room to grow with even the home and mobile based business becoming a stockist for not only the grooming products the groomer uses but for other retail items as well.

JOB SATISFACTION.

If you are a dog lover the opportunity to work with dogs can be a dream come true.  The dog grooming profession allows you to work in an area that gives you personal satisfaction from doing a job you love.  Once learned, it is a trade that you can always go back to after the kids leave home should you leave to raise a family.

INDEPENDENCE.  YOU ARE YOUR OWN BOSS.

If being able to choose the days and hours you work is important to you then that is a very good reason to become a dog groomer.

While a salon in town where rent is paid on the premises may need to remain open 5 or 6 days a week to meet expenses especially in the early days, a home based salon or mobile service is not under the same pressure.

 AVAILIBILITY OF JOBS.

If you are a dog groomer you can always find a job.  Groomers often start when young and temporarily leave for a variety of reasons.  They marry, start a family, travel, retire, move etc. so you won’t have a hard time finding a vacancy.  Some vets employ full time groomers on their premises as well.

EASY AND FUN TO LEARN.

If you love dogs you will find the trade easy to learn and fun to be involved in as a lifetime career.

How to choose the right copywriting course?

Before enrolling on this or any other copy writing course, we recommend that you check out what other courses are available. Here are some points to consider:

1. Is the course you're considering comprehensive? In other words, does it cover topics like press releases and TV commercials? Too many courses on the internet focus solely on direct mail, or are written by dot.com people whose only experience is writing for computer and internet companies.

2. Will your studies be supported by a tutor? Research shows that people succeed much better on courses that include a personal tutor.

3. Is it interactive? That is, do the course materials regularly make you stop and think, and do exercises? Too many courses consist of page after page of boring lecture notes.

4. Does it teach you about setting up your own business? Many Internet courses are reasonably good at this, while college courses are often weak on this point.

5. Is it accredited?

6. Can you get a refund if you don't like the course? It's hard to know what a course is like until you actually get it.

7. Are there real books and manuals? Some courses exist only as e-mailed files. But a course that lacks books some how feels insubstantial. With a paper-based course, you can pull out sheets and read them in the bath, and you can scribble in the margin. In addition, the course should provide web-based support, such as a students' common room.

So, how can you find out about other courses?

1. See if any courses are available at your local college or nearby university.

2. Scour the Internet But beware: hundreds of dot.com entrepreneurs think they can teach copywriting.

3. See if you can contact a careers advisor. Careers advisors know nothing about copywriting, as they would be the first to admit. The careers books they consult will probably suggest getting a degree in English. Which may (or may not) be a good thing, but it isn't an option for most of our students, many of whom already have a degree.
